Help! Should my next SL be a 600 Bi Turbo?

There seems to be various opinions on what a 'Performance Pack' includes - particularly with regards to a power increase.

Well, here is the official list I was given by MB Basingstoke this afternoon when I raised the question, as I didn't have a clue:

- AMG performance (smaller) steering wheel
- Limited slip rear diff
- AMG performance sports suspension. Although this is NOT any firmer than the regular SL63 - a point I checked with them several times, and can also confirm after the Test Drive.
- Power increase from remapping the ECU from 517 to 524bhp (Wow....8 bhp!)
- Top speed limiter raised from 155 mph to 170? (Can't remember, and it's not on my 'supporting documents' like the other items).

That, I believe is it. An £8,000 option apparently!

Cheers,
Robert

Vrooom vroom....well done :thumb::D

Congratulations!

The Starguard is a waste of money IMO.

Although I'm probably biased, I'd go for black alloys and agree the orange calipers look great.

It's a cracking car! Personally I love black on black with black wheels. The orange calipers will look superb!!!!!!
Do it do it do it!!!!! :D

I was offered a "StarGard" protection system for the car, prior to it being collected. £499, inside and out. Can anyone recommend this "StarGard" or is it a total waste of money? Thanks, Robert
Don't do it! Get a proper detailer to do it instead (without the stargard). Liking the calipers but not sure if they might grate after a while. Could always change them though! Nice buy.

As they have already said, stargard is a waste of money, keep your money and spend it on a proper detail when u need it.

Good comment :-)

I thought I might go with something like the orange callipers, but easier on the eye, perhaps gold?

Not quite so 'in your face'.

These colour combinations are making my head spin

Cheers,
Robert

I have the light leather, but dark wood trim in mine, and love it. Had black leather in the last car, and wanted something bright this time around.

I'm with you on that one :thumb:

I've got light leather in my Volvo XC60, and it DOES lighten up the whole cabin. Gives a nice feeling of space.

Cheers,
Robert

Wow, that was quick lol

Congrats, lovely car. What are you doing with the Alpine unit in your old 350 - moving it over to 63 or selling with the car?

Great car with a great option list, congratulations and enjoy.

The only thing I would do IMO of course is colour code the silver 6.3 badges on the front wings, they really look like an after thought and cheap looking.

Fantastic looking car, congrats!

Where would you get the calipers done?

The one in front of you!!! LOL

Robert !

PS. Like the yellow callipers....hmm....might just do that!

I know, but the 993 targa is an itch I'll have to scratch, and soon, as 993 values are ascending

Lovely car, enjoy it..... oh and yellow calipers FTW :D
