Hi Guys, I really need some advice urgently, I recently posted a thread about my convenience battery which kept showing dash messages of consumer electronics offline for 15minutes when first starting the car - this was due to a dead battery as the car has not been properly driven for 10 weeks as I broke my leg. Anyway I booked the car in at Epsom Mercedes Benz and they confirmed a dead battery and changed it for a new one and handed me the car keys after taking 181 pounds for the change. I get in the car and open the roof, it started ok no problems, but just as the boot is about to close and seal the roof in it stops, and I was not able to open or close the rooF!!! I called the service manager, he had a look at it and took it back to the garage, now I have been driving the car for a week now and I have managed to open the roof and close it everyday although had to wait till the battery was charged after 15mins of driving. THe service manager is saying that the air pump for the roof is gone, but I had that changed under warranty in 2006 and they told me that it controls the car's ABC and central locking, all of which locks fine! THey managed to put the roof bcak up again and want the car back for a investigation on Tuesday next week and then charge me for investigation plus whatever parts may need fixing!! I dont know what to do as far as I am concerned the roof was working before they changed the battery and now it seemed to jam as it was closing? should I take it to Tony Purslows Guildford for an independent assessment or take it back to Epsom to let them rectify it! I dont think its the air pump as the symptoms are different from before PLEASE HELP!! THANKS!!
