Hi All
I have had a search but cannot find this mentioned anywhere? Hoping someone can help?
I'm having real issues sourcing a headlight for my car: A207 820 7561 / A207 820 0539 (possibly A207 820 2561?)
As background, in March / April I noticed my N/S headlight main beam wasn't coming on + a warning appeared on the dash. Sidelights, cornering lights and daylight running etc. all working as expected. Tried to change the bulb, no luck. Took it into Mercedes independent, who also changed the bulb, then said control unit had moisture in it (bulb cover was missing, no sign of other damage). I bought a replacement control unit, to which the garage apologied, but said headlamp itself was too corroded to work with a replacement control unit. Hella (via euro parts) were showing as out of stock. Periodically I've tried various specialist breakers years (Prestige All Parts, Dronsfields etc.), no used ones in stock, nothing coming up on ebay, euro parts still out of stock.
During this time I've only used the car for short daytime runs (yes I know I shouldn't). However, summer is coming to an end, it'll have an MOT etc. I want to use the car normally and need to get it sorted. After a lot of phoning around yesterday, I found one supplier who said if I paid upfront now, he'd be able to put an order in, but not to expect it until late September?!
Do I have any other options? Are their any smashed ones around I'd be able to transfer the innards across from?
Car is E350 Cabriolet A207.
