The anti-towing - anti theft button on my 2002 W210 320CDI is misbehaving.

I have followed the instructions in the manual but the light on the switch is on permanently.

I am staying with Mrs Ringways in-laws at the moment (quiet neighbourhood for mainly older folk) and woke up half of the street at 4.00am and 4.40am. :o:D:D

I have had to leave the car unlocked because the alarm keeps activating.

Any advice much appreciated.

Paul.

Update.

When I dis-arm the car the indicators flash.

When I arm the car the indicators do not flash.

Also, if I have the interior lights to come on when I open a door the centre light in-line with the rear seats stays on full time even after the car is locked. This light goes out if I turn off the "lights on when door opens" option.

Sounds like the tailgate switch is playing up then , or possibly an iffy connection in one of the rear door switches? Are the odometer bulbs lit as well?

Odometer bulbs are lit OK.

I'll have a look at the tailgate switch. :thumb:

Many Thanks.

Boot switch played up on mine because i had the trim stripped out:o

Didnt cause the alarm to come on just boot lights stayed on and led in boot release switch.
