I need to replace my front pads on car, jacked it up took the whel off released the pads from the disc, but couldn't get the pins out!

Is there a special tool or what to do this, I was expecting some retaining device etc.

Also new pads have the sensor hole to far from the mounting position on the pad!!!

You just need some decent penetrating fulid and some decent punches

Pins rotate no problem, but will not push out, are they threaded or is there a retaining clip or what?

Get new pins and you'll see where the problem lies. There is a spring band on the inner end which seizes up. I have had to cut two sets out my 211 when changing pads. Use a small cutting disc in a grinder down either side of the pad hole. Once cut through they seem to come out no bother. Also(on the 211) the sensors are handed, so the left one doesn't fit the right etc.

NB. Other methods may be available... :D

Thanks everybody changed pads Ok, but now cannot get rid of the warning, is there a code or do I have to get a star unit to do it?
Or do I have a faulty sensor?
I will check the rear brake pads later to see if they need changing as well.:thumb:
