hello

A part for my car has been updated by a new part number, and the new part does not seem to match the previous.. :dk:

any advise / help appreciated

original part = a1246906430

new updated part = a1246909030

Hi

Just did a search and a1246906430 is a "Heritage" grill?? What is that????

Some kind of 'covering' according to Inchape

Some kind of 'covering' according to Inchape

its a covering for the w124 cabrio, that fits to seal the motor and regulator from the cabin on the osr quarter, and is fully sealed to block out water.

the new panel is 2-3 cm shorter, and thus not fully lock into the gap and so leaves a gap exposing a small gap..

i would have thought the new panel should patch the pattern of the original..??

Sadly lots MB replacement spare parts are no longer of the equivalent quality as compared to the original part fitted at the factory. Can often be sourced from a more recent model which uses an equivalent part and we all know what happened to MB quality in the late 90's when the bean counters held sway. Looking on the bright side at least such parts are still available from MB which cannot be said for all manufacturers!
