My father recently took his car in for a service at the main dealers, he also asked for the car to be checked because the A/C had stopped working, fuel guage not reading correctly and a ticking sound which lasted a couple of minutes on start up.
I have attached a copy of the healtcheck report he was given, I am not a complete novice when it comes to car mechanics and can understand some of the faults listed, however a lot if it doesn't make sense to me, for instance "Oil stopper loom at camshaft adjuster not fitted"
or "Oil leak from engine, suspect magnet seal, possible head gasket - req cleaning & re-inspecting" .
I'd like to be able reassure him that it's not going to cost more than twice the car's value if he takes it to an independent garage, or even better if I'm able to do the work once I get my head round the jargon listed.
If anyone has any idea what it means or has come across such issues and know fixes I'd be interested to know.
