The TT is finally done and will be started on a 12 day classified advert on ebay tommorow at 3pm

I was wondering if anyone could look at what i intend to put in the listing and see if ive got anything drastically wrong

140,000 miles
11 months MOT (Passed with no warnings)
5 months road tax (I only bought 6 months as it has been SORN since march 2007)
Lots of service history
2 previous owners
These cars were a standard of around 215bhp, once Turbo Technics had worked their magic they have been known to be anywhere upto 400bhp, I do not know how much this has but it will be around 350bhp

I have spent £3,000+ getting it running to the way it was when it was new

Loads of reciepts

17" Original AMG alloys with good tyres (these came off of my other w124 coupe which has done 100k)

Full black leather in great condition

Twin electric seats

Cruise controll

Alarm/Immobiliser with new alarm fob

The car has never been smoked in

5 speed switchable automatic gearbox
Sportsline suspension & steering package
Power steering
4x Electric windows
Tilt/Slid sunroof
Electric heated mirrors
Headlamp wash wipe
Heated rear window
Front fog lights
Pop down rear headrests
Electric front headrests

It has been to turbo technics and had just under £1,000 spent on it (with fully itemised reciepts and list of work done)
It has just this week come back from a Mercedes Specialist who spent 3 weeks sorting it out until it ran like new which has cost me a further £500 (with fully itemised reciepts and list of work done)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Work recently done ...

Original Bosch Air Flow Meter
6 Spark Plugs
HT Leads
Oil Filter
Fuel Filter
Privatly serviced by a trained Mercedes Mechanic in june 2008 (Engine oils & radiator liquids)
Cam cover gasket
Cam cover seal
Fully Valated

Plus I have changed ...

17" Original AMG alloys
Clear rear lights
Headlight

I also spent £290 on a new rear spoiler as the car did not have one, its the normal mercedes type but has a hella rear brake light built in, this is brand new, unused and still in its white primer and i will include this in the auction.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought this car in march 2007 and have spent one and a half years getting it back to a fully working order.
This was one of if not the very last conversions done by "Hughes of Beaconsfield" and not a DIY project.
I am the 3rd owner of this car.
Today was the first day since ive had it that it worked 100% and it was performance tested against a 2001 Mercedes CLK 430 (4.3 v8) and my car beat it on acceleration to 30mph, 60mph, 100mph & from 50mph to 100mph (all done at a private venu).
This car is the fastest car anyone i know has driven, book figures range from 0-60 in 3.9 seconds to 4.3 seconds.
I have been told that some of these cars were de-restricted (if restricted at all) and are capable of touching 170mph (I have not even got close to that but at 100+mph it had plenty to go)
I am selling the car as i bought it on impulse as I love the w124 coupe and still have another w124 e320 coupe which is partialy why im selling this as i dont need 2 cars (the last picture shows both of my cars).
The "Hughes of Beaconsfield" & "Turbo Technics" devolment team did not make that many w124 coupe twin turbo conversions, they did a 3.0 12v and then later on did the 3.2 24v and I have been told that they only made a handful of the latter 3.2 24v twin turbos and as mine is a 1995 it was like I have said one of the very last ever done.
The car starts first time every time.
The turbos have been checked by Turbo Technics when they did work on it and again this month when the specalist worked on it.
All 4 windows work, the central locking works, the allarm/immobiliser works, the electric mirror work, the electric black leather seats work, the car idles perfectly and mechanically the car is in fully working order.
The air conditioning has not been charged and other than that I can not think of anything else that does not work.
Since I bought this car in early 2007 it had done about 200 miles and the owners before me said they had the car for 2 years and they had only done around 1,000 miles in that time.
Since picking up the car today we took it for a 100 mile round trip just to see if there were any issues and not 1 poped up.
The body work is mostly in ok condition.
The alloys could probably do with being refurbed
The spare is an unused 15" polished light alloy wheel
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now the important bit
If you want to come see the car then email me at [email protected]
If you want to see the car running or go for a test drive I will get somone to take you as this is an extremely powerful and rare car and I WILL NOT let someone I have just met drive it.
Please DON NOT bid on this car before contacting me before hand as if you do I will cancle your bid right away as there are far too many muppets on ebay who seem to delight in buying 3 or 4 cars at a time and then dissapearing.

please remember before hacking em down that im not car expert and this is the 1st draft of the listing, which is due to go live at 3pm

thanks

Err, what car is it, when it said TT I thought it was a Audi:confused:

Might be an idea to pop the text into MS Word (other word processing software packages also available) and run the spell-checker. Fair few typos

Is there a need to mention why only has 5 months, just to say 5 months tax is detail enough. I like a quick overview of the car before I read all the blurb, so the essentials, like MOT, Tax, Mileage, colour etc, then go into more detail regarding each aspect of the car.

Rather than passed mot with no warnings, I would put passed Mot with no advisories.

You have stated 2 previous owners then further down said you are 3rd owner, no need to repeat yourself, try and keep it to a minimum. Quality not quantity!

You say bodywork in ok condition, I think more detailed "areas" of condition are needed! No need to go into full detail, just a quick overview of what and where.

Is the font on the ad going to be that big? Because I prefer well structured smaller writing and other people may too. (just my opinion though). Relevent information per paragraph rather than lots of sentences jumbled all over the place, it will read better and sound better.

You say today is the first day of it working 100%, now to me (being a bit un expert) sounds a bit iffy, as if it may go wrong at any stage, so why mention that. Just say it runs fine/100%/perfect or something or other.

At the end, you say email me @ xxxxxxx, this sounds like you are uncontactable so just say via ask seller question link and/or email, give people the option of both! And a phone number (if possible) always adds to the reassurance.

And then you said "Starts first time, every time". My intial reaction would be 'How do you know?'

:)

Hey GFP,

Hope you don't mind but I have copied and re ordered your text. It reads better to me now. I have also taken some of it out as I think you may be guilty of "talking too much".. Do you have some NICE pictures of the car in question to accompany your ad..??

My take on it would read......

Mercedes w124 Turbo Technics.

just looked at the pics and there was one with the old broken rear light that ive now changed to a new light so deleted that

and one of a filthy dirty wheel so deleted that too

need to get a few more good pics

I really want to put my car on ebay but I know I should and NEED to give it a thorough clean in and out and take fresh pics, cos the ones I have are not the best. Not in a huge rush to sell it but I will want to once I've bought my new one! Can't really justify two cars on the road :D:D

me too

ill sell this (hopefully) and buy the convertible and then probably sell the 94 e320 coupe and have just 1 car

had somone pm me from ebay asking if i was off this site

so far had 1 offer and 6 pm's

no buyers as yet

i hope they would not see the price and think there is no point making an offer as id see the price of any car listed and think the seller would take a certain percenatge less like every car ive ever bought ive haggled and not paid the asking price
