Looking for some info on this model. Plenty of fastbacks about but not this. Is it a notchback?

It's Ford Consul 2-door sedan. Never marketed in the UK, so far as I'm aware.

It's a 2-door saloon and is therefore not originally a UK car.

The badges on the back say Granada GL on the left and Automatic on the right.

TBJ949W is a valid UK reg, apparently a 2600 which makes it a Cologne engine not an Essex. Therefore European not ZA/Aus. If you look carefully it's a left hooker.

Quite like that, I have a soft spot for the coupe of the same era. As mentioned, the 2 door saloons were never sold in the UK.

Cheers,

Gaz

What a Great Forum this is. Never ceases to amaze me the endless knowledge it has :thumb: :D

If its a 2.6 it will have the Cologne V6 rather than the Esssex V6. Maybe a car that someone posted with the BFG British Forces Germany took back with them to the UK?

oops been said already.
Same engine these were based on.

Confusing perhaps because up till around the end of the 60's all German Fords used the TAUNUS brand name.

No, it's 80/81 Legal to fit a personal plate that makes the car look older
So it was imported in 1999 and has got an 88/89 year late?
