Hi,

I have a 2013 ML250 166. It has a fault where it will rev to about 3000rpm and not change gear. sometimes it sticks like this then suddenly over revs into the red and will perform normally or it will stay low revving and gradually pic up speed to about 50mph.
its not giving any warning lights and seems to be getting worse. has anyone else experianced this??
this only started happening after MB put a new water pump on!!

Sounds like your car has gone into limp mode,sometimes there will be no warning lights come up,best to get to a indy and get the car put on Star,there are so many things it could be ,you need the codes read and they should tell whats wrong with it.

it's in with MB dealership, but been in and out now 4 times... they don't seem to have a clue even after witnessing the fault themselves..

So are you saying it sticks in gear and don’t change? If so change the brake switch! Job done, had this on my discovery 3 and c250!

Swirl flap motor in the inlet manifold? Can show up as an air mass fault sometimes.
