We've had an E220 estate for 13 years, which has been thoroughly used and abused by our 3 kids!

I've got an E430, which I've loved owning for four years. However, it is currently off-road and causing me a major headache, which I need help with.

Having recently invested a substantial sum in servicing and welding to get it through MOT, I now find myself in a predicament. The vehicle requires a single radiator pipe, which is currently unavailable from any Mercedes or other sources, blocking its return to the road.

If I can't get this pipe, I'm looking at having to scrap it...and it's way too good to that! ( The kids have had restricted access!! )

If you can help me source this pipe, whether it's from a breaking E430 or if there's a specialist who could custom-make it, please let me know.

@W1ghty Sorry I can't reply to you in "Classified" as I have not made 30 posts yet. I have searched every site on the first 3 pages of Google, as well as the obvious Ebay and Mercedes.

May be at least worth a call to Dronsfield in Manchester? (car breakers, but a step or two up from Sid in a yard)

I'd suggest contacting someone like these guys to see if you can make up a suitable hose from a collection of their standard elbows / straight sections:

Ahh... Just saw you post in the Classifieds section where you've identified what you want as one of the transmission oil cooler pipes rather than one of the water hoses that I'd assumed.

Good luck with your search, but as suggested in that thread, maybe approach someone who makes up hydraulic lines and see if they can help?

Or maybe one of the several companies who make custom rads for older/more obscure vehicles. Won't be a cheap option no doubt, but if you can't get the genuine item.....

Thanks to everyone for their help with this.
I managed to find a hydraulics firm to make a flexible pipe, so I should be back on the road by the end of the week.
Now, I need to decide if I can bring myself to part with it to try and get back the £4k I've recently spent on it.

It was an “under the counter” job so probably shouldn’t name the company. I would suggest you make sure you keep the original pipe and take it to a local firm.
