Hi All

I put down a deposit on a CLS 55 AMG today on an 05 plate.:bannana:

Previous cars have been an Audi TT and a BMW Z4, but this AMG, although a little older, is a real step up in terms of quality and power. I was a member of the Z4-forum before and found the user group discussions to be really useful, so I am hoping it won't take me too long to feel at home here.

It's gonna take a few weeks for the dealer to prep the car to my (high) standards and arrange for the transfer of plates etc at this time of year.

I'm sure that my unusually high impatience levels will be tested to the limit whilst I wait for my Christmas present.

I have a couple of questions that I'll post in the relevent sections but in the meantime I hope you can forgive the ignorance and enthusiasm of another newbee.

Unfortunately my original purchase didn't work out - thanks to a total **** up at MB Chelmesford. They tell me that they sold the same car twice on the same day . I suspect that the other buyer didn't drive such a hard bargain. I was really ****** off at the time as good examples don't come up that often but anyway, it all worked out great in the end.

Last Wednesday I purchased a lovely black CLS55 AMG from a regular on here - dsliverpool. :bannana:
First of all - what a top bloke. We arranged the deal over the phone and via e-mail and I was so confident before I boarded the train to see it that I only bought a one-way ticket. He prepped the car thoroughly and all of the service history was laid out ready for inspection.

If you ever need to do business with this man in the future then you can do so in confidence.

I ended up with a newer car with fewer miles and a gorgeous grey leather interior with designo umber wood which has been well looked after by a true enthusiast.

The power just goes on and on - it has far more oomph than any UK road can handle, so I have to limit it to short little orgasms of acceleration.

I haven't stopped smiling all weekend

Brilliant car, highly envious and having driven a TT for a while (perfectly acceptable car of course) I think the CLS55 is in a different league for so many reasons. Nice start to a new year

I've also had a TT, then a Z4, and more recently an SLK.

Like the sound of the CLS though.
