Hi guys, I have just acquired my first mercedes, I have lusted after one for ages and at 17 have acquired a 95' c200 elegance with high miles, although good condition! Have had to work hard all summer to afford it, though insurance is not too bad as have been driving a honda accord since i passed, merc is in a different league though! Have read some very interesting tips already on this forum and have been inspired to add a few touches to the car! Also been very impressed with the members cars and modifications that have been done!

Welcome to the forum  We like to see piccies in the gallery ;) (we're a nosey lot) :D

That's a very nice car to drive at 17. I'm sure your mates will think you an old man, until they go in the car that is.

A word of caution regarding mods. Check them with your insurance company before adding them to your car.

Welcome to the fold.

thats true mate lol! when i say mods, i meant kind of small interior stuff, definetly not bodykits etc. my pics are now up in the gallery. Cheers

Nice looking car m8! Welcome, you'll have a great time. If we can help a modder then just ask!

One of the best mods you can do is to add a decent set of new dampers. The ride and handling will embarass all your mates Corsas and Saxos.

A nice update is to add the bumper and sill lips from a facelifted 202.

Hi 117 and welcome to the forums! I think you'll find most of the guys and gals on here very helpful and always willing to give advice. Amongst them all there is a wealth of knowledge should you need advice or have a problem with your car. What a beauty she looks in the gallery. Bet your mates are as jealous as hell. Cant stand boy reacer cars, but a Merc at 17, you are obviously a lad with superb taste. Good luck with your new car. Cheers, Jim. :bannana:

Nice motor, and at such a young age.. :) look forward to seeing the mods

Hi 117, welcome aboard mate, you have a very nice looking car there, I wouldn't worry about the high mileage, Mercs were made to drive forever so I am sure yours is just run in :D Look here

Nice car mate. Just a suggestion that you change the photos to remove the registration number, not a good idea on the Internet, too many scallies about.

Nice choice of motor.

You mention the insurance is not too bad, a good thing at any age, but especially when you're 17!! I remember the pain, and that was years ago on a 1.3!!

Have safe fun

...what am I saying?? I sound like my Dad!!

I'm watching you Walker. :D

cheers guys, everyone seems friendly! I have started to do a few jobs, went down to local dealer and brought some new cluster bulbs the other day and fitted them myself as ones behind speedo had gone, im tempted by the chrome gear surround, does anyone know how much this is from the dealer or recommend some other useful bits that i should look for? Cheers.

Dash and heater control chrome rings. Not available from MB but very effective.
Also look at changing the rear lights for smoked ones.

the gear surround is cheap and easy and is MB slk. Shude will have the number!!

Welcome to the forums!

This thread has most of the part numbers for 202 mods :)

Check out ebay for the chrome bits. gear shaftboard surround, heater rings and dashboard upgrades are all on ebay. Search under Automotive, Mercedes Parts and Tuning, under the search 'W202'...Its all on ebay. good luck.
