Hi,

I am new to the forum, have always had BMWs...ban.... but I've decided I need to get a Merc for my next car to see what they are all about. Having browse through the web looking at pictures, I am really liking mercs.

Now the problem is I am on a tight budget, I am aimming to spend under 2500. Looking on autotrader, I really fancy a W208 CLK but a friend of mine who's into Mercs told me the e-class and CLK from this era are most prone to rust problems on the front arch. So I am most likely only going to be able to get a rusty one at the low end of the CLK price range. Is my budget really too low? Also, any other suggestions on models to get with this budget?

I think a member has his CLK for sale-not sure how much it is, but probably in much better nick than ones you'll find on autotrader and ebay.

Well I was looking at that before but a 700GBP drop seems a bit optimistic if not insulting to the guy..lol... I will probably pm him in a week when I am going to be free to go around viewing cars.

Another thing thou, I noticed that some of the cars have these black piano looking trims instead of brown wooden trim in the interior. Are they part of a trim package?
