Will a 35W HID kit cause a on board computer error, or a bulb out error on my W209 CLK facelift.

Thanks guys

Kam

Yes. In all probability.

It does on a W202 - gives a blown bulb warning.

A dealer may be able to recode the computer, but they tend to remind you of the legalities of such kits...

does the bulb start to flicker? or just give that warning and the bulbs function normally?

Bulbs function normally , and you may not see the error message until you turn them off .

The Hids4U kit apparently does not cause the bulb failure warning, due to have the correct resistence....or something !....although this still does not make them legal.

Think there are a couple of kits around that will match resistence. TBH, have used one for 6+yrs on my Seat Toledo without any problems. No self-leveling, no OE headlamps. Did retrofit headlamp washing though.

Ive got headlamp washers, no self levelling , reflector headlamp housing lol! Shold be a fun install lol! any ideas where to hide the ballasts? thanks

On the Seat, they where glued to the underside of lamp...:D

Not sure why you are worried about hiding the ballasts.

Anyone who looks closely at your car after witnessing the light show will have to be a bit of a mentalist not to know what you have done....
