Thinking of getting hid's and front wash wipes for my '94 c280. Would i be correct in thinking that it was only the last of the facelift cars fitted with these? Are the lights plug and play or what all will i need? The wash wipes are only to satisfy myself in the looks department. :thumb:

Yes only the facelift W202's had the Xenon light option however both the pre-facelifts and facelifts had the wash wipe option. It is possible to fit OEM xenons to a pre-facelift car as I Alps did it but it is not exactly a cheap mod

Unless your pre facelift 202 was something special, i wouldnt do it as the mod will cost almost as much as the cars value!, if you still want to go ahead, its a great mod.

Depending on how old your car is (pre-facelift or pre-pre-facelift!) you may need to replace the strips under the headlamps (definitely needed for wipers unless you plan to drill holes) and you may also need some rubber weather-strips. These items are easily swapped and inexpensive when compared to the actual headlamp units :) .

I bought a Bosch kit in 2006 which came with headlamp units, corner indicators, ballasts, all bulbs and capsules etc and a laughable one-page instruction sheet. Came to just under £600 and was about an hour to fit (although the ballasts are still rattling around in the engine bay because I couldn't bring myself to drill holes in the chassis to fit OEM style).
