Is the high beam supposed to come on with the auto lights switched on or just on manual lights ,car is 2013 c220

High beam operates with the stalk pushing backwards, whether lights are on manual or auto on the rotary switch as long as main beam is on.
If you have High Beam Assist, then if you are in manual then the stalk operates high beam. If you are in AUTO then selecting high beam does not necessarily turn on high beam, depends what the system sees in front of the car using the camera at the top of the windscreen.

Thanks for reply mate ,I thought this but wasn't sure as never had a car with auto lights so that's one problem solved ,now I've got to sort out dashboard turning its self of and on randomly ,cheers dean

Just leave it on Auto and let it do it's thing.

Dashboard more problematic though :-(

Yeah dashboard is a problem ,replaced fuse box clips and rubber seal ,no damp or condensation in fuse box but friend has Same car and he thinks it could have slight corrosion on plugs maybe so he's going to go through them and clean them and see how we get on ,it's a shame as car runs perfectly otherwise
