Has anyone had problems with these on W211?

I had a new one in September 2008 fitted by my MB dealer as I was made aware a number of the bulbs had failed, just found out today 4 bulbs have failed on the new one. I will make a claim on the dealer, but how long in other members experience do these last?

Thank you

Richard

You mean the centre brake light? I've seen quite a few older W211 cars with partly broken centre brake light "bulbs". Those are actually LEDs, it must be a contact issue unless the LEDs are poor quality. Mine has passed 5 years without problems, LEDs should survive a lot longer than 5 years.

Yes the centre brake light in the boot lid. Mine is 2004.

I to have seen many with all, some and none working. To get at them you have to dismantle the boot lining so checking them is not a quick job. I would have hoped they had lasted longer than 5 months at £65 a unit as I was told you can't replace individual LEDs.
