I have a Dec 2002 C220CDi (W203?) which I bought 10 months ago with 55K on the clock.
I have now clocked up 94K and am wondering whether to trade it in or to keep it and run it for another 40-50k.

What is the high mileage longevity of these cars - should I trade it now or will they go on for mega miles?

Car has full service history from MB and specialist and feels as good now as it did when I got it.

Any advice appreciated.

94k with full MB service ? It has not even started breaking into a sweat.
One member here has got 400k or more on his

If you have no desire for a new car, then keep it and do something sensible with the money that you will save, you have a nice looking car that can be good for in excess of 200k miles, as you say, take it another 50k and do the deal then while it still has some value

Yep, I'll second that. Good, well made cars are hot to trot for at least 200k if properly maintained.

My last B** had done 142k on the original clutch!

Thanks for the replies.

I have heard that the auto box may give up after 100K - do they tend to go on a fair bit longer than this?

Change the fluid now if it has not been done, we recommend the change at 60k miles, most boxes out live the car, OK any part of the car can break at any time, and the same applies to a new one., forget what might go as said many go in excess of 400k

Appreciate the reassurance chaps - It's in for a service tomorrow (third B service in a row - is that normal?) so I will ensure the gearbox oil is changed.

As long as the all the oil and regular changes are done with genuine fluids and ATF stuff and not cheap supermarket stuff, then you should be fairly OK

Fluids should be pukka as it goes to a MB specialist...at least I hope so...

My local MOT station has a W124 that comes in every year....mileage 526,000 miles and it still goes and looks OK. Its a 250D and has only ever needed a head gasket and a replacement transmission at 275,000.
