High mileage cars:

If you plan on keeping it for many years, no problem. Buy on condition.

If you only plan on keeping the car for 2-3 years, be aware that the future buyer will knock off the price due to the mileage, so only pay a very low price when buying or you'll end up seriously out of pocket.
 
Absolutely; condition & provenance is everything.
BTW that must have been one of the first facelift 204's
 
It's not all that high a mileage, really, and over time, if you don't do much mileage, it will creep down towards 'average' mileage anyway.

Good point and I always thought, rightly or wrongly, that it was preferable in many ways to actually use a car as it was intended rather than having a garage queen that rarely turned a wheel
 
Normal checks on its servicing etc but 124k is just run in.
