Only use Shell V power in both cars, Petrol in the CLK Diesel in the Volvo. They have better cleaning and detergent packages than standard. Its been debated a few times on here if you search

I use to use V-power on my c320 but it never liked it it becomes slugish and not that responsive not all cars like high octan fuel My e55 on the other hand loves V-power which is 99 octan it flys.

Only perfomance cars like the high octan fuel!

i use the cheaper one. when it is nearing MOt time i use the bp ultimate or the v power shell for emissions

I use V power-don't really feel the difference in my 500, but on my bikes I def feel the diff so I assume its better you use than usual fuel!

I just buy the cheapest fuel I can find .

V-Power or BP Ultimate.

I find you can tell a small difference in the overall smoothness of the engine, but I also see a 5-10% improvement in fuel economy. (Overall range goes up)

V power plus octane booster in my Skyline , only way to keep the detonation under control no other combination performs as well , if i had an ECU that could adapt to other fuels i wouldnt worry so much

my '75 coupe needs 98 ron but i have to buy anything over 97 for it depending where i am or it runs like a bag of ****, most modern cars dont get any benefit from high octane fuel, its all in your miiiiiiind

V-Power.

Shell is generally a bit cheaper, and on the 5th Gear fuel test it came out ahead of BP on the dyno (gave more torque).

V-power or Tesco 99 for the Civic. Everything else gets run on normal stuff, but the Civic runs like a dog without it...that's being mapped for 100RON Japanese petrol for you.

I use BP Ultimate and can get 300 miles out of a tank on a motorway trip in the C36. The car does run smeeother as well in my opinion.

V Power in both cars.

There was a big debate on a diff MB forum about this very subject, and the general feeling was that most of the MB blocks were designed for unleaded and will have no real benefit running super or newer fuels. The extra octane can in most curcumstances not be utilised by the engine so are a waste of time, apart from the odd fill up to use the newer super detergent additives to clean up a bit.

My clk owners manual lists the lower 95% octane as being the ideal fuel

V power. I reckon it gives me a mile or two better mpg, and maybe a bit more on a long run (33+ up to Lake District the other week at "motorway speeds"). Fractionally under 30mpg coming back. (Got home in much less time!) Don't know whether it makes any difference in performance. Whether the slight apparent increase in mpg is worth paying extra for I'm not sure. Though general opinion is that it is a superior fuel for the engine and as such keeps things cleaner and working better.

Power/torque increase is slight, but does mean you can use a little less throttle to maintain the same speed ... hence the small improvement in mpg/range.

I always used V-Power in the Sharan (2.8 V6) when we drove it to Germany because it made the difference between a one stop strategy being a fairly tense affair and it being quite comfortable.

And when towing the caravan, because the extra torque made 6th gear useable (which it wasn't on ordinary fuel ... except going downhill!).

there is a massive difference in my E320 Twin turbo...Shell V-power all the way,98.9 at my local station, not bad

Shell V-Power because i just boycott (and hate) BP.

Sometimes i use sainsburys "v-power" because its 91.9 per litre and 88.9 for just normal unleaded!

Our first FSi-engined Polo only liked Shell V Power (the engine was designed for it), with the limited 86 ps (1.4) on tap feeling more like a 1.8. It would certainly take off from standstill like a 'scolded cat'.

When VW dropped the FSi engine from the Polo range, we slummed-it with a conventional 1.4 (80 ps) engine on our second Polo. Even so, it performed better, was more responsive, and more refined, when using V Power.

Now that we have a diesel Mercedes, I've discovered that V Power Diesel gives a smoother and more refined performance in our A-Class.
