Anyone into these high precision, very fancy and pricy, mechanical pencils?

My sister sent me a few, but I just can't get one with them - prefer a simple old-fashioned pencils that I can sharpen and shape as I like, with the exception of my trusty Montblanc Michelangelo 5.5mm, but that's for art, not technical drawing.

Anyway, I've got:

OHTO SP-504 0.4mm;
PROMECHA 1000 0.4mm;
OHTO Body Knock SP-1000B 0.6mm(?);
Pilot H323 0.9mm and a couple of Pilots H325 0.5mm.

All made in Japan. Also, some refills - six packs in total ...

Give me a shout if interested :thumb:

Don't know - I was asked, by the Chinese manufacturer, to submit a drawing of a custom cable strain relief boot, for my adaptive brake light system.

Wasn't happy what was coming up in Illustrator (not my strongest skill, I admit), and in absence of specialised -CAD software, I thought I'd use these fab looking pencils to draw it ...

Half an hour later, I put them aside, grabbed an H and a 2B, sharpened them as I wanted to, and did the deed in no time, and without any mess. Old dog, new tricks, and all that ... :dk:

I use Rotring 0.5mm for technical drawing, followed by Rotring Rapidograph for inking. But, the Rapiographs are getting on in years and have started dropping blobs of ink. Recently bought a set of Rotring Isograph to replace them which is the same as I had when at college over 35 years ago

Wow this takes me back. When I started as a computer programmer in the '70s all the coding was done on paper forms, which were sent offsite to be typed up onto punch cards. Everybody used high quality mechanical pencils :)

Well here they are...
I suppose this should be moved to classifieds now? My apologies.

One of the OHTOs is already spoken for, although not sure which one yet.

Put a pic up of your skills.... wish I could draw/sketch/write artistically

My brother is a product designer and has a fabulous collection of Rotring drawing equipment.
For some reason though he does all his freehand work with a biro.
His hand drawn stuff is very high quality. I remember while we were doing his extension, the structural engineer & architect were most impressed.

The SP-504 OHTO is now taken

The OHTO Body Knock SP-1000B is now gone too.

Only blue Pilot 0.5mm, and Orange Pilot 0.9mm remain, the latter one with four 2B lead packs.

£5 for 0.5mm;
£7 for 0.9mm with leads.

All now sold, many thanks.

I still have a very nice Rotring one somewhere , along with matching fountain pen .

Now that's something I do use and like very much :thumb:

I have a 22-yr old 149, and it's my daily writer.
Custom nib, which I re-grinded myself, gives me two completely different styles in a single pen: 3B and EF italic.

Restored a few Montblancs, for friends and family (well, my sister).
Collected even more, but slimmed down recently.
