Hi,
I pick up my CLS next week, I've done all the usual HPI checks etc, but can't seem to find an internet site for checking the service history.

Could anyone point me in the right direction please.

Cheers,

Pete

You need to request it from the dealership

That is because no such site exists.

Ask the vendor to get a print out of the service history from Mercedes. Any services not performed by Mercedes main dealers or third-parties with authorised access to the digital service book - won’t feature. For those you’d need to do it the old fashioned - take a chance or phone around the garages that you can see stamps in the book to check their records. It will be hassle for those garages unless it was a car they knew very well.

Mercedes will only give you it if you show them the V5 in your name. Which makes no sense as after the fact in most cases.

Some forum members can get access to Mercedes Service Histories
Yeah, that's the answer I got, nothing without the V5 VIN

Presumably the current owner has shown you the service history and you wish to check it? Why not google and call the places that are shown as having carried out the servicing and check the history. Don't trust random stamps in a book, I have seen at least one book with half of it filled with completely fictitious stamps - businesses that did not exist and with incorrect telephone area codes for the town they were supposed to be in - so a pretty incompetent fraudster.
If he has not shown you anything and told you to check with MB then either he can't be bothered or he knows that the SH is not good - either way I would not be buying the car.
When buying a half decent car you need not only to inspect the car but you need to feel good about dealing with the seller. Any shifty answers or any hint of something not adding up then you need to assume the worst.

.....I've done all the usual HPI checks etc, .....

Be careful with HPI checks.
Lots of reports of things not being reported via HPI.

I checked one last month, came up clear, checked the same on Vcheck and found it had went through Copart as a flooded salvage car. Well worth the small amount of change to check.

Cheers for that

When I buy a car, I expect the seller to provide me all service history documents, if they can’t or won’t, then that would be a red flag, and would consider looking elsewhere.
