Hi all

I hit a deer on my travels which has pushed back the headlight on my 57 W211. Is there anyway to repair the brackets as MB want £600 for a new one.

Thanks

Perhaps a decent 2nd hand one? Must be plenty about in the usual places?

You could try a local sheet metal worker - they may be able to bash it back into shape for you, if it's not too badly bent.

Cheers,

Gaz

Thanks but it's plastic

Can't see a repair kit on EPC so probably isn't one.

Do you have a part number or failing that a VIN/REG?

MB do do repair brackets.
A2118205114 Left hand
A2118205214 Right hand.

£21.38 each from Inchcape.

@bob6600. Item 175 on the page for Ant-toe-knee's headlights is the repair kit.

Thanks so just quote that part number at my local MB?

or order online from Inchcape

Yes, just quote the number and don't forget to ask for a discount from your local parts department as you will have to pay for p&p from Inchcape.

It is listed as a holder LH or RH, Repair solution.

There are cheaper ones on ebay but I cannot guarantee the quality of the fit.

Do compare prices between Inchcape and other dealers - I have sometimes looked parts up on EPC then input the numbers into Inchcape to obtain a price .

Sometimes the same part is cheaper at my dealer ( with discount ) and sometimes Inchcape are cheaper ( with their quoted discount ) .

It pays to shop around .

With an item like a plastic headlamp mount - it could also be worth asking specialist Mercedes breakers like Mercman , since a used one would do the job just as well .

I stand corrected :thumb:

Before I had the reg there were too many options and didn't see it

There's a repair kit, you can get it from any MB dealer - £30 or so, kits differ between model years so make sure you get the correct one.
