Guys

Can anyone recommend a decent place to get home lighting please.

I'm specifically looking bedroom reading lights.
Have seen some on Amazon, but the reviews are very mixed

What I think I'm looking for is those flexible gooseneck lights, they will be wall mounted just above the head board.

something along the lines of this.
Berfin chrome-plated wall reading light, LED

Appreciate that, thank you very much

Try J R Lighting in Newry. Huge range of lighting available and I would be surprised if you couldn’t find something to suit. They can also order in, if nothing suitable in stock. No association by the way!

A local supplier - brilliant, thanks very much

Guys,
Ill ask the question anyway.
Does anyone know how any lumens do you need for these gooseneck flexible reading lights.
They vary so much, and the companies themselves aren't helping

For example this light
They sell it as a reading light, but on enquiry regarding if they're good enough for reading in bed, I get told that they're only 87 lumens and wouldn't be very bright at all.
Another

The WTF are you selling it as a reading light then?

Then this
Ask them same question - Oh yes he proclaims, they're specifically designed for reading in bed

The link in the first reply from whitenemesis says 240 lumen - that must be really bright then

Just looking at the LEDs ( in all their various designs) sold in B&Q none are below 100lm
40w equiv is approx 400lm (depending on design, candle or reflector etc..)
Without knowing the fitting it's difficult to say which lamps is adequate..
Safest would be a fitting in which one can swap out the lamp to change the brightness?

I didnt even think about them.
I've ordered the lights from TLC though, so time will tell I guess.
