I know that it's a real problem for the OP but I would love to see the embarrassed driver's face with the horn hooting for no reason and everyone looking at him.

On a lighter note my front door bell goes off randomly when no one is there.
Im convinced it’s my father who’s back to haunt me from the other side.
I’m not saying it’s cold in our house but every time we open the front door the hallway light comes on!

Is this related to cornering? Our CLK had this issue when turning the steering wheel. It was due to some fault in the airbag unit and how it connects. Apparently it is a known issue. Needed a new airbag unit to fix it. Not cheap.

I'm not sure to be honest I'm going to have a look at the battery for the alarm and then have a look at the airbag unit.
