horn problem (w124)

    what will have gone wrong? The horn Nat's estate only works when you press the left side of the wheel; nothing happening on the right - why would that be?

    You're best bet is to take the airbag off (2x Torx screws from rear of wheel) and checking the metal bracket behind - its probably not making the contact - also a wire may of just come loose. All will be revealed once the airbag is off

    make sure you disconnect your battery before disconnecting it though!!

    The pic attached shows the inner of the wheel - the black vs the silver metal bits at the side is what detects the pressure of the horn-press. probably not making contact or wires loose. your 124 will be very similar inside to this. Thinking about its, (cant remember off hand) its possible that the horn goes off when the contact is broken, rather than when the contact is made.... compare against your working side
