I am having a problem with my left rear brake on my w204 c280 sport. It is getting hot. I have replaced the caliper, pads, discs, shoes, pins and hangers. Also had the brake fluid replaced All with genuine Mercedes bits. But it is still overheating.

The W204 comes with a built-in electronic stability system. This selectively applies individual wheel brakes to help stability in cornering. If the hardware on your rear hub checks out then there may be a problem with the stability control electronics. You may need to put the car on the MB star diagnostic system check this out. The other possibility is the handbrake mechanism on that wheel is not fully releasing leading to overheating of that particular hub.

If it's the service (not park) brake causing this - is the heat in the disc or the drum? - possibly the flexible hose is collapsing internally and trapping the brake on.

It’s in the disc
