a consumer organisation in the USA will work for the americans interest.
note on the verge of taking over GM as the worlds biggest car maker.

Buick highest rated, says it all.

It is in the interests of the US to slag off the opposition and we could use statistics to do this. The last time I checked Toyota had issued more recalls than any other car manufacturer, but to me it is just typical of useless, meaningless figures. Toyota are one of the World's biggest car manufacturers and logic dictates they will therefore have a significant number of recalls, but how many per one thousand cars compared to one thousand Chevrelot's, Chrysler's, Ford's etc.

Are you sure it works like that??? SUrely a recall is a recall no matter if you manufacture 1000 or 1000000 cars....it is because of one fault....not one fault per 1000 cars...or did I misread?

I could have explained myself much better. My fault. If Toyota build lots of different models, and these models are exported world wide, then might it be possible that producing so many vehicles and exporting all these models to differing countries will they expect more recalls compared to a manufacturer that only produces 3 or four models and have a very limited export market with far fewer sales? :)

I think I know what I mean, but I'm struggling to put it into words :D

Plus when they recall something like a Yaris we are talking mega numbers which look spectacular. :o

 :) Reading some of the Toyota recalls I note that some are for corrosion on models dating from 1998 - 2005, but Japanese cars don't corrode.
