How do I change dipped beam bulb on SLK 171 model?

I've ordered some better dipped beam bulbs on the advice of some forum members for my recently acquired 60 plate SLK - whilst the manual seems to show clearly how to change the bulb, it gives no real clue how on earth you get to the back of the headlight!

Sorry don't have a picture to hand but anyone who can advise I'd appreciate it - apologies if my search has missed the same post elsewhere.

Anyone near Burton on Trent who wants a wash/wax in return for some pointers/training on changing my bulbs, please let me know!

Thanks,
Clive.

You have to drop the wheel arch liner. Thee was a "how to" guide on another forum somewhere. I'll see if I can find it again later and will post a link if I can.

Brilliant - Thanks Phil - I'd really appreciate that.

Driving down a lane the other week in the rain scared me - I could not easily tell where the edge of the road was or the edge of the oncoming traffic!

Thanks Again,
Clive.

Fantastic - thanks Phil - wow what a routine to change a light bulb! Well a pair of them! What do Mercedes charge? £100 to do it? lol....

Trust my SLK to have the Sports Lowered Suspension, probably makes it even trickier...

When I pluck up courage I will take a look and plan to have a go!

Many many thanks,
Clive.

It's the same palaver when you want to set the headlamps for driving on the right, too. Fortunately, my local dealer will swap them over and back again when we return from holiday for a single £30 payment. This has the advantage that I can be a lazy b'stard :-)

Bulbs were changed yesterday but what an effort - after getting all the nuts/screws off it was clear getting it back would be difficult - answer called Mobilo....sorted on my drive!

Thanks Phil for all your help - was very useful, thank you....

Regards,
Clive.
