CLK 230K W208 Coupe (1999)(Auto)
Hi,

I've got a 1999 CLK 230K W208 with a Tape Audio 10.

I've been thinking about a Comand, a new kenwood system with the CANBUS module to make steering controls work...eventually i've come to the decision that i don't even using steering wheel controls...and i want some serious sound!

So i'm on the hunt for a new head unit.

Questions:
How do I remove the old Head Unit - does it just pull out using special keys like most other cars?

Installation of the New head unit
- does this require a special harness, any wiring changes, or any aerial adaptors?

Thank you

Rossyl,

I think you need to dismantle the centre console to a degree.

Can I point you at darrellr's thread about running a power cable to the armrest?

It in turn points to a more detailed console dismantling thread

Phew!

yes it just pulls out with the special keys and leaves behind the metal frame like any other standard radio , installation will depend on what new unit you choose
