Thank you, to all members that responded. I really do appreciate your help in this matter.
I've been experiencing broadband difficulties since Saturday, so (working with a "3" dongle) haven't been able to upload any images, but I will post the pictures when normal service is resumed.
Taking into account all the advice offered from MB Club members, I have decided to send our client an anonymous report/script to work from when contacting the original contractor.
I will also offer to communicate on our clients behalf (as a supposed employee who has toured the site with several reputable blinds companies, and therefore gleaned valuable information with which to confront the original installer).
