My 190e has seatbelt pretensioners fitted (SRS) but how exactly do they work? I've seen them fitted to quite a few cars over the years(mainly Fords and Vauxhalls)and the ones ive seen have some kind of an explosive charge down the side of the seat which is triger'd off in an accident causing the seatbelt to recoil backwards.
The 190 has none of this(that i can see) and i just wondered how it works on my car and any merc of the same era.
