I’ve ordered a carbon spoiler from China. Thought I’d take a chance cos I liked the look of it.
How do I pay import duty on it when it eventually hits the uk? Do they let u know somehow??

If they notice they hold it at your local post office where you have to pay to get it but often its not noticed and gets delivered

Yes and if they do notice they will also add £8 handling fee. I had to pay this for a 97p customs charge:wallbash:

Yes. They will send a letter saying the amount

Ok thanks guys.

Won't you also have to pay VAT.

You will have to pay import duty plus Vat. I did when purchased a set of wheels for my 55. They contacted me via telephone then email. Couldn't locate the wheels anywhere in the UK. Had to get them from the US. Cost enough with the tax and vat on I say :wallbash:

Two / three years ago I ordered a new carburettor from China for my lawnmower, including post and packing, it was sent by air and arrived within two weeks by our postman, total cost £7:10p,
Similar piece on e bay, £19/ £25. And it's still going,.
