How do you fit roof bars?

Thinking of buying roof bars for a bike rack. Can anyone tell me are they easy to fit on a saloon. Do you need to be tech minded to do this?

I've fitted them to previous cars and they are very easy. On my last car I went for the Thule quick release bars which don't take long to setup and once thats done can be taken on and off the car very quickly.

I have the Thule rapid system with the Aero bars - highly recommended as they look great and work well with silver cars. See mine here .

I also have two Thule Tour 510s. The whole lot is very simple to put together and very high quality - I was going to get the Halfords ones, but these look and feel *so* much better.

I got all my kit from roofracks.co.uk . Highly recommended - they were very helpful and made sure that I only need one key to lock everything.

The Merc ones are made by Thule, so just the same (apart from the cost ).
