I drive a e200 cdi from 2000. Car won't start anymore. Somebody told me to test the injectors. How do you test them without the prof. material? Is it possible?

Thanks

You need to take them somewhere (that is if you can get them out) to be tested.

You need a leak-off test kit as supplied HERE.

The injectors could be leaking air in when the engine is off.

Does it turn over/ Fast?

Is the fuel pump getting fuel etc etc etc

You need a better "someone"

I have tested the injectors, no problem was found.
Seems to be the high pressure pump that is leaking, (left corner above the belt) last night I found a lot of fuel on the ground. Could you repair this or not. The car still won't start.

Thanks everybody for the reply's.

Technically yes as it will be leaking through the backplate which is screwed on. In practice it may be difficult to seal properly.

Are you sure it isn't the fuel cut out valve leaking? I have had mine replaced twice. The valve is to the offside side of the pump, ie left when looking from the front of the car

I have found a pic on the net that seems like my problem. The area in the red circle is the same leak I have in my car. So can you fix this by replacing this piece of the pump or do you have to buy a complete pump? A how-to would be nice :)

To show us the picture, you have to give us the address for it. If you're using Firefox, right click it and select 'copy image location', and then paste into a post here.

If using Internet Explorer, right click the image, click properties, and copy the address line, then paste it into a post.

Exactly where mine was leaking.. MB specialist said no replacement parts for this so, new one fitted, total £450. ouch!!!

Could you replace this easily or do you need a mecanic?
A how-to (diy) would be helpfull.

Thanks
