Mercedes C180 Estate
Hi,

I'm a newbie looking for some advice. I had my 2006 reg C180 estate serviced yesterday and was told that the offside front camber arm ball joint is needing replaced as the bush is sticking straight up and I believe it's quite urgent.

It seems quite a costly job at over £300 and I wondered how easy it is to do this myself (well have my husband do it - he's quite handy!)

Is this straight forward or have Mercedes designed the car so that a specialised tool would be required so I'd need to get it done in a garage?

Thanks for your advice.

Easy peasey. Remove centre undertray, remove inner bolt to the subframe usually 2 21mm spanners required but sometimes a torx is used which is e20. The 21 mm nut on outside. Sharp hammer hit to brake the tapper then refit. 30 mins most. 10 minuites on a ramp at work. Don't even remove the wheel

Fantastic-thanks for that. £30 for the part plus a roast dinner sounds much better!

Cheers

Don't fit a £30 susp arm you will be replacing it again in no time!
Get a lemforder from ECP have a 2 year warranty & even have the merc part no on the bush,
Either that it genuine.

Thanks for the tip, I'll buy from there instead-still much cheaper than £350!

Even the genuine arm is only around £135 ish + vat.
