How economical is your AMG ??

Have seen 28mpg mid-run in my CLS63 (M156) but that's normally dropped to 26/27 by the time I've parked up on a few trips to/from Silverstone and Donington this year.
150+ miles each way makes for a reasonably long run and sometimes you get a clear run where nobody has decided to have a smash and cause carnage.

I’ve had 31mpg in my 14 plate E63 once, generally get between 25-29mpg on the motorway driving ‘sensibly’. I find for some reason, with more passengers and a boot full, I get better returns. Worst MPG is 9...

CLS55 topped 29 + once, after MSL, lowest was 8...

My 3.5t Renault Lo Loader van averages 29 :)

Wife’s 1.6 X-trail, 65mg. ‘93 BMW 520i gets me 600 miles for 85 quid. 2006 Saab 9-5 estate diesel used to get me 630 + for the same money. My nephew’s Corsa returns 70mpg according to the trip computer. My mate’s Bentley (‘92 saloon) 15mpg on the motorway, 7s around the doors. Ouch!

In just over two years of ownership I have made it a point to never look at the MPG screen on my W212 E63. Granted I have switched screens and seen a value but generally I don't really care. Lets just say I hardly drive it (sub 6k miles a year) and I fill it up probably once a month at a cost of £90+.

Essentially if I only drive the C63s estate it in sport plus once in a while (20 percent of driving) , I get 25mpg combined. sport plus is completely wasteful and knocks off at least 25 percent on economy. i reckon i can get 27mpg combined over 4000k+ miles if i banish sport plus completely but that will never happen :)

Averaged 39.7 on the out leg, slightly less restrained on return leg. Tbf, it was almost all motorway and I was running early so sat at 56mph on way down Don’t usually show same level of restraint, consider anything about 30-32 a bonus

Why worry
Plant your foot and smile
