if only they'd do it with the CL. 😂
Ha - no one seems to challenge my CL when I'm driving. Youngest offspring got a few challenges when he had it for a while. Thought it better not to ask whether said challenges were accepted, and if so what the outcome was. Ignorance is better sometimes.

400bhp and 4wd in the 80s?

Must have been something very special no matter what it was, I had my old HSR chevette from that era and that was classed as a group B rally car, think it had 150bhp at the wheels.

Getting surprised at the lights is going to become a more regular occurrence these days with all these insignificant looking electric cars now being sold!

Hi , you are quite correct. I have feeling that London Fire Brigade had a few BMW i3.

I saw an example moving away from traffic lights. Impressive !

Be honest now............. how many of us would feel threatened by this at the lights?

They’re actually faster than the owners think. Live with one for a few years and you’ll see. These cars if we’ll looked after are absolutely brilliant.
Hi , Mercedes AMG BMW M cars from distant decades were clearly fast in comparison to most affordable road cars of that time.

My Mercedes with a mere 330 bhp is not much slower to 60 than a modern E Class V8 AMG Mercedes.

I am more interested in the 40-60 / 50-70 performance and I would suspect your AMG would score in that area.

I only wanted a petrol C207 car and I quickly learned that these examples were few and far beyond even at Mercedes dealers.

I cannot say I looked at numerous cars but even at Mercedes dealers description against car and actual was a fairy story.

I would have liked V8 example but Mercedes UK decided on my behalf that I could not have one.

If I could have waived a wand and had an proper AMG V8 C207 series car I would have jumped at it but was not to be.

My concern regarding AMG C and E class cars is how they have been looked after by previous owners.

I won't purchase petrol / battery cars because by luck I know the service manager well and I mentioned the E 350e and he just slowly said no.

I appreciate your reply but please don't take me to seriously , I don't.

Properly quick cars are quick at any speed, but it’s the rate of acceleration at illegal speeds which really shows the difference in performance. Sadly that’s rarely felt or seen.

😳😳😳

The speed differential is absolutely incredible when you see it like that. Imagine the consequences if the slower car changed lanes at the wrong time.

The slower car is driving very slowly at 70 kph. I would be interested to see the speed differential if the slow car was doing a more typical 130 kph.

......Imagine the consequences if the slower car changed lanes at the wrong time.

......

That is the problem.

I've been on the Autobahn many times and I'm also good at keeping my eye on the rear view mirrors but I can tell you that even when
you are doing 100+ and the other car is coming at 200, one minute there is nothing in the rearview and the next there is a car flashing his lights.

The most challenging bit for me going at my car's top speed (155) is that
1) I'm not used to it and things happen really quickly
2) Worrying about numpties in the middle lane (although they are quite good in Germany)
3) The biggest challenge............Having to be really alert for faster cars coming from behind and quickly finding space to slow down (usually to less than 70) and move over..........Those unlimited speed stretches can get quite busy.

I have discussed this with my wife and explained that it would be less stressful if I had a faster car because there'd be fewer cars wanting to pass........... o_O :D

That guy in the Ford Escort probs had a sleeper, for exacly the reason your Scooby mate found out.

Hi , if AMG cars are fast why do so many owners takes them to tuners to extract more power from the engine.

Hi , if AMG cars are fast why do so many owners takes them to tuners to extract more power from the engine.
Because many of them are held back, remember not everyone services their cars on time. Or let’s their engine engine and gearbox warm up or has access to good fuel.

so if you are someone that does all that above and puts good fuel in the car why not unlock the car’s potential

Hi , if AMG cars are fast why do so many owners takes them to tuners to extract more power from the engine.
It’s because they can go even faster when tuned, and some people want to unlock that potential. The turbocharged motors can receive a very significant step up in power with just an updated ECU.

For genuine every/day every/purpose cars, AMG (RS and M) models are amongst the fastest. To go noticeably faster you would need something very very tasty, which might only really be noticeably “faster” in perfect conditions.

Sure it was my a Victor? 😳

Would love to have eavesdropped on his conversation with his insurer:

'Now sir, before I give you our quote, there's just one more little question - are there any modifications to the vehicle?'
