3 months ago I agreed a deal to purchase some parts with a long standing and well respected member of this forum, via e mail, to be delivered via courier due to distances involved.

Long story short, the parts are still not here despite my instant payment and gentle reminders and questioning, apparently delivery was attempted on two occassions and courier calling cards left (no cards received).

New address supplied in order to see if delivery address was confusing (difficult to see how it could be).

Now I've no reason to suspect the bloke is anything but honest, and indeed appears very pleasant, but I'm tired of chasing and not receiving much in response.

I'm pretty easy going I think and can accept **** ups happen but I am starting to wonder.

Course of action?

Sorry I can't offer any advise but it sounds like the courier company was Yodel. Am I right?

Hi Clive, no it wasn't actually, it was one of the big boys

So, if the vendor dispatched the goods, then they are with the couriers. Its the courier to blame now, now the goods supplier. I'd get a tracking number off the courier and get the goods delivered and if they are back with the vendor, rattle their cage to resend.

Looking at the tracking number - the goods have now been delivered to an address in Manchester, postcode of M5 3EZ, Modwen Road Manchester, if that means anything to anyone on here?

Unless you live there sounds like they have either been addressed to the wrong recipient or you have the wrong tracking number. If you speak with the courier company they should be able to confirm if the address on the documents are the same as the address that they are showing as delivered to.

If your goods were delivered the courier should be able to provide proof of delivery (signature), and confirmation that they were not delivered to your address. Your contract is with the seller so its his obligation to reimburse you , and seek recompense from the courier ( who his contract is with). You have been far too patient in this matter ! Insist that you get either a full refund or replacement goods. No matter how "nice" the seller is , you are the one thats out of pocket.

Your contract is with the supplier, not the courier. By all means speak to the courier to find out what is going on, but chase the supplier and let them do the donkey work if the courier is not forthcoming.

If you still have no joy, then if you paid by credit card speak to the issuer and open a dispute. I think you may have missed the window if you paid by Paypal (isn't it 45 days?).
