In August last year I had two rears, Yokohama, on an SL 500, about 5500 miles later need replacing soon, relatively sedate driving, a bit of exuberant acceleration but not much. Can't be right can it?

I fitted Michelin Pilot Sport 3 rears on my E55K (700NM torque) in September 2011 and replaced them at the end of last year.

I do around 8000 miles in a year and that was with a fair bit of spirited driving, a Vmax and a fair few traffic light Grand Prix.

I would say those oh no Yokos were a bit pants!

Could be, I've covered less in a Cosworth on Yoko's, having said that I never show any consideration to tyre life, but they are a soft compound mainly for grip..

I took Mich. PS3's off with 6mm left and replaced with Yoko..:D

What's the wear pattern like? Worn in the middle? or on the inner side? or worn evenly all over? Yokohama do get a rep for rapid wearing soft rubber compound on some tyre types.

I've Pirelli Michelin Goodyear and Dunlop all last way longer than 5500.

You all need to buy a VW Caddy van. I've had it since new in 2011 with 25 miles on the clock and i've just hit 59k and i'm still on the factory dunlop rears and they are no where near the limiter yet. :thumb: fronts lasted 35k.
