How much 1985 500SL with 24,000 miles

Any thoughts on how much I should pay for a 1985 (pre facelift) 500SL with only 1 owner and 24,000 miles and full service history.

I've been offered the car, but I'm struggling to decide how much to offer for the car, as it one of the very last pre facelift 107's.....I know that a facelifted 1986-1989 SL with this mileage and condition would be sold for @£17-20k.

Any idea's....the car is immaculate apart from 2 dents, one on the top of the front wing and one on the bonnet, caused by hail stones. Not huge but will need sorting if the car was to be A1.

Sounds like a beauty - with that sort of mileage/condition £10 000 (ish) I would say as it is a pre face lift and needs a little bit of working done to it.

I'd say more like £14k - £15k if it's a good clean example with that sort of mileage. The later post '86 facelifts only command an extra 10-15% from what I have seen. As an example a friends nice '86 420SL with ~40k sold for £14k recently.

Agree with stats007, between £13-15k. If its spotless then £15k is ok, but not a bargain, if it were in a showroom it'll be priced around £20k.]

Start off wih £12k and work your way up.
