How much do you pay for insurance

My renewal in Dec was £200 more than I paid last year (£370 ) so now £570. Went on the compare sites and got better insurance for £218 and now well happy, must be ive turned the corner and now 51, but goes to show never just pay the renewal.
Nice Price. I paid £335 for mine last November and I thought I had a good deal !
You'll have to let me know the insurer for next time, mind you, I'll never see 51 again :D

Does anybody know a good company for modified cars.

I was with privilege but when I let them know what mods I had done they would no longer cover me at any cost.

I think Adrian flux cover modded cars... But they run with redstar who I hate.

Who with ??

I was absolutely floored when I got my insurance quote earlier in the week. My car is a 1998 C230 Kompressor Sport, all original spec. I was expecting a huge number but it is cheaper than the crappy Rover 214 I've been driving around in. How can that be???

Granted I am 43 years old and have never made a claim but this is still verging on 200bhp territory. Obviously I'm not complaining but how the hell do they come up with their numbers?

This was RAC insurance in case anyone is interested - £350 fully comp.

I'm a similar age, in London, fully comprehensive for the W202 C250TD, paying £170 this year.

I think the risk associated with W202's is falling as the owners of the remaining cars are driving them carefully! I was paying ~£400 just 5 years ago.

Age 46, 9yrs+NCB Full business use, New R172 SLK350 AMG Sport - £390

I am paying £213 for my w221 s320,12,000 a year fullycomp,I used a comparison site, and weirdly I got cheap quotes from Diamond ,thought they were only for women, and Elephant and then Admiral, the next day the COE of Admiral was blowing off about insurance companies giving cheap insurance and that was why they did not make so much, very strange because they are all owned by Admiral, Diamond were cheapest then Elephant about £10 more then Admiral £20 dearer,£250 excess,I think they believed me when I said I never go over 40mph and always stay in the inside lane

Adrian Flux - £500+

More Than - £315.

This is for the same cover on a (supposedly at the time - as it turned out it isn't) mapped E55K daily driver (8K a year).

Guess who I won't be renewing with in July...

If it was heavily modified, it might be a different story, of course.

£463 with 7 years no claims with 8000 miles year
But i had a no claim fault late last year on my clk 230k octagon who i was with would not not issuer me on my clk 320

I have had my car insurance with Aviva for the last 4 years and have been pretty happy with them.
The first policy I got with them was through Adrain Flux as I wanted my wife (then on a provisional license) to be able to drive my Megan R26 as a named driver.
I paid slightly through the teeth for that as expected but once she got her full license, Adrian Flux renewal quote was £300 more than Aviva offered direct so I stayed with them without the middle-man so to speak.

So having signed on the dotted line for my C63 (which I'll collect on Saturday) I had to get some quotes.
My renewal is due on June 21 and Aviva quoted me £1450 for me only on the C63 and my wife's Picanto with me as a named driver.
Needless to say that elicited a sharp intake of breath.
A follow up quote (single car only) for the C63 with Aviva resulted in a quote of £1150.
Direct line wanted £424 (single car policy)
Admiral wanted £525 (single car policy)
After a couple of other quotes and comparisons of multi-car policies, Aviva (who absolutely refuse to price match) have lost my business and our two cars will be covered by Admiral for just under £700.

I can't believe Aviva won't compete. House insurance is up in June too, I can see them losing even more business......
