How much do you pay for insurance

Just a little bump as I've just had my renewal through the post from Privilege.

£685 fully comp, group 1 business use and protected no claims.

All mods declared so quite pleased really. I did the usual ring around, a lot declined to quote, a few came reasonably close, whereas the "specialist in performance and modified cars" Adrian Flux wanted over £1,400

Stick with the one I know for another year I think. :bannana:

Tried LV Eddie, they weren't happy with the mods and the power on mine. :(

£1300. The lowest I've ever paid. Most was £4500, two years ago. No points, just scummy area.

£143, SDP, 9000 miles, no points, 15yrs+ NCD, wife named driver and car garaged overnight.

C63 £280
C63S £320

47 years - 10+ NCB, 1 claim in 2013 theft.

26 Y/O, 3 points acquired in 2013, 4 years NCB

2002 S55KL AMG

£570 Fully comprehensive, no named drivers

:D

That's cheap , factoring your age and type of vehicle, add to that the IG2 postcodes are
One of the most expensive for insurance. Who are you insured with?

Daveenty, LV don't like mods but their sister firm Highway has no issues with almost all mods.

Mine is with Highway and they are very good. They only deal through a broker, I used Chris Knott.

I asked Chris Knott (sponsors on the other side) if they insured modified cars, and their answer was "Hi, yes we do. The only exclusions are roll-cages, nitrous and bhp increases of more than 100 over stock."

I've lost in the horsepower clause unfortunately. :dk:

E63S 2014 - No points, collecting today, 9 years NCB

£520, Fully comprehensive, wife as a named driver.

Would be intresting to know how that changes once mods begin to be added ;-)

£103.00 No points, max no claims, no convictions.( Classic line )

£168 on Transit Van.

£192 on C Class estate.

Both fully comp. 10+ NCD and protected NCD

I love my postcode!

- £796 (as paying monthly)
- Full license held since only March last year
- 6 month ban before I got my license (yes I used to be an idiot!)
- Excess £500
- 31 years old (30 at time of quote) East Northamptonshire

More than half the price of what I was previously paying for a 2.0 Audi A3 tdi sport

Can't remember the rest of the stuff, just free things like breakdown and windscreen etc, although I paid extra for key insurance and something else

Reading some of the posts on this site 'Key Insurance' is well worth the extra few £'s :thumb:

Ah apologies mate, what percentage power increase do you have then? I ask as alot if insurers who accept mods, get twitchy over 25%.

2015 c class AMG Line
2 years no claims
total excess £150
Total premium £326
Put a friend on who is in there 30s clean licence and it reduced mine by £100 per year from £426

Tried a quote with Mercedes insurance and they wanted £1200 (i think not matey)

S211 E320CDi Avantgarde Full licence over 20 years, full NCD (protected), wife on policy with 1 non-fault claim, £305 although should get cashback via Topcashback, which, if it comes through, would make total paid £245.

Can't remember the excess, but it wasn't more than about £250.

Just renewed for £286... :bannana:

That's including 11 > 25% power increase and exhaust mods.

There has been some references here to roll cages and modifications, my track M3 has both, I found Footman James and Admiral won't quote with a roll cage, Adrian Flux and REIS/Chaucer will, REIS were cheaper for me.

C200 Estate FC with commuting 10000 miles a year, Vauxhall Corsa FC business use 15000 miles a year, Suzuki ALto business 10000 miles and a Kawaski VN900 FC commuting 6000 miles a year. Me and the long haired general £680 with a £100 excess.
