No, I'm not selling mine (well not just yet at least). I've been offered the chance to buy a C Class Coupe a 200k as it happens, 2003 model, metallic blue, leather, 6 disc cd unit, panoramic roof, auto box, FSH and 46,000 on the clock.

It doesn't seem the highest spec but i'm not sure what the spec list might be!

Bodywork is almost mint, it has a mark on the back bumper from the owner opening the garage door and not having the car far enough forward

Also i know the sill trim on the passenger side has gone a bit cloudy but i suspect this is a common issue.

Just looking for something with a little bit more go than the C180 which has been brilliant by all accounts. I know this car missed a service due to lack of use so the 30 year warrenty is out but anything else to look for and more importantly... how much should I be looking to pay? Current owner isn't sure and while i don't want to go over the odds, i don't want to have their trousers down either.

That spec is pretty good for a coupe with one of the smaller engines. Spec makes little or no difference to value at that age.I would suggest a value somewhere around 4800-5300

Cheers dude. Was thinking about 5k so not bad. MOT december and new tax.

Any issues with these? Looked up mpg which seems a lot lower than i had thought it might be!

I had a C220d on a 2003 pre-face lift (so not the cool white dash lights etc)

Electrical faults are the big one to watch out for. Make sure everything with a fuse works and no fuel seeping from the vacuum fuel pump.

As above check all the electrics very thoroughly. Check every item more than once. Intermittent problems common especially with the locking/alarm. Some of them were dreadful. Also suspension bushes. These go at a very low mileage.

As far as I know all electrics are spot on, its been well pampered. Just need something that will do the commute (60 mile round trip) and the odd weekend in comfort, with a bit of added poke. Should be able to do the job then...

Can you get uprated bushes at all? I would hope so...

prefacelift W203 c-class.. I'm not a fan.

if you do 60 miles a day and you want a merc, why not the 220 or 270 cdi? They have plenty of go (especially when mapped) and will return much better mpg. The 200K is a thirsty engine for what it is.
