Ok , for all those attending the GTG at PCS , we are going to have a little bet ....

I need a new set of plugs in my V8 CLK , the last time Olly tried to change a set of plugs against the clock ( on my old V6 CLK , 12 plugs ) events beyond our control stopped us ... but he was flying ... ;)

Not sure what book time is , but i'm saying it'll take Olly 35 minutes ...

We'll have to work out what the prizes will be , and the entry fee ...

THE RULES: ( from Olly )

1. Engine must be cold
2. Time starts tools in hand.
3. Don't talk to me.
4. I must have a cold beer when I finish.

The force tells me he'll drop the bonnet at 17 minutes 32 seconds.

Ohh thats fast.

Time stops when engine starts.

In that case 17 minutes 36 seconds assuming it's not Olly-san who turns the key.

Can I bet on myself?

Just to clarify , no stripped threads into the head either PLEASE ;)

We need to come up with prizes and entry fees too ...

38 minutes 12 seconds

P.S. Olly are you charging a fixed price or per-minute for labour (just want to check your motivation :D)

Well as it's a challenge and I like to do my best always I will be going as fast as I can.

BTW the labour time is 1.8hours.

I'll get down early on the day and we'll get the car in place so it can cool down ...

I imagine it'll be a bit warm after a jolly down the A3 ;)

Olly , there's no danger of stripping threads is there ? :o

My 17 minutes and 32 seconds was a guess, but your comment above confirms it, I have faith that you will do it in less than 18 minutes.

Why? I had an Astra Coupe Turbo a few years ago, and from day one I thought the plugs were iffy. They changed all sorts of things including the ECU, all under warranty.

They eventually replaced the plugs at my request and cost, and it took exactly 1/6 of the quoted billable time, and that was with the tech chatting to me as he worked. Ran fine afterwards. I never did pay either!!

1/6 of 1.8 hours is 18 minutes!! ;)

NO.

I never have EVER.

Ollie did mine fairly quickly but then he did stop to put his makeup on, check his hair and have a coffee....

How long then Greg?

Place your bets.
