All gone now.E 220 Convertible, 2x190E, 2xC180, 1xB180 sport.
Having acquired a 2004 XK8 4.2 V8 Convertible back in April (to replace the E220 Convertible) it seems that facts and figures are readily available out there in the ethernet i.e. number built, specs, how many left, colours etc.
There is also a very knowledgeable forum out there much like this one.

By coincidence ;) I have now acquired another 4.2 V8 in the form of an Audi Allroad Quattro of 2004 vintage. It seemed the sensible choice to replace the Nissan X-Trail. :D That and the V8 is so addictive.

I can't find much info on these cars, even 'How Many Left?' doesn't list any details.
Can't find a decent owners forum and farcebook is next to useless as expected.

As this is by far the best knowledgeable forum out there I thought maybe someone could point me in the direction of some useful info.

That means you grober!:)

.........and any others that may wish to contribute........

p.s. In my defence I did consider Jay's C43 estate but it was a bit more than I wanted to spend.

They have air suspension which can be problematic. The control unit is accessed from the boot but the thing most likely to fail is evidently the pump/ compressor unit [ possibly due to its rear location??]

If you have compressor problems there's a guy BAGPIPINGANDY who rebuilds them.

don't know if he still does this or not?

Some good info there, thanks grober, I knew you would come up trumps.

The car came with a box file of history from the first MOT and invoices going back as far as the first warranty claims.
The previous owner for 5 years spent £11.5k on servicing and repairs.Ouch.
I even have an invoice for replacement key fob batteries.

The car has only done about 68k mls but it appears that it spent some of it's life in Scotland near the coast and the dreaded corrosion has affected the engine support subframe. They are not available new so a second hand one needs to be sourced.

Fortunately there are a couple of independent Audi specialists close by and they are on the case.

I still can't find how many 4.2 V8's were built/imported and how many are left. There is some info out there for USA but not for UK/Europe that I can find.
