How the hell do they do that then?

It's just over one tanker a day ?

They hold 25000L IIRC

They won't have a clue how much has been stolen, otherwise they'd have noticed sooner.

They should have put a tiger in the tank.

That is an 10" pipeline that runs at 1100psi. ( You need to have either have big pipes at low pressure or small ones at high pressure to shift the volume required)

Not some of the non settled community bashing a hole but someone with serious kit

More to the point "Chevening House Estate is shared by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Foreign Secretary, Philip Hammond" why do they need such a massive house (at our expense)?

Hot Tapping of fuel pipelines is pretty much endemic in some third world countries. Hundreds die every year as a consequence of this criminal activity. The techniques and equipment employed are pretty much standard industry techniques AFAIK nothing desperately complicated- Main problem is getting undisturbed access to the pipeline without being discovered. I would suspect the perpetrators may be specialist "contractors" imported specifically for the initial crime and may be long gone. ;) What would remain would be some form of criminal distribution system to dispose of the large volume of stolen fuel. Evidently the secret is not to tap off too much fuel such that pipeline monitoring equipment alarms are triggered and slow turning on and off of the "tap" to minimise flow perturbation. Lots of video on U tube about it. e.g.

Who pays the bills? Didn't they notice?

#9; and if you are having drinks with the meter proving technician all the better. :)

Might see if there are some oil & gas hot tap vids around... TDW??

OK, so this is how they did it:

But you'd think someone would have noticed...??? :D

Even more to the point - how long have the two of them been cohabiting ??

Slightly disingenuous headline---- should perhaps read
Fuel stolen from pipeline under Foreign Secretary's 3,5000 acre estate rather than "residence" but then it would lose that GREAT ESCAPE vibe!;)

Yipes ! What sort of cars do these two drive to use that much fuel. lol:bannana:

BAZZER1:wallbash:

I assume this has been stolen from a pipeline which passes beneath the estate, rather than a huge tank kept in the national interest?

Either way, I reckon Elektra King has something to do with it.

If this story is true - it's a bit worrying for national security isn't it.

Half a dozen tankers of 4 star driven into central London and detonated will make a pretty spectacular bang! Even bigger if they hijack a LOX tanker or two on the way in.

Don't worry too much. Unleaded is much better for the environment.....

It would only affect London...
