No, I'm not a passing thief! :D

See http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/electronics/142825-c200-keyfob-wont-turn-unlock.html

I've got a problem that my car is no longer accepting the keyfob into the ignition - it won't even turn/unlock the steering lock.

The car is probably already plastered with parking fines :( for being there all day (thankfully, it was parked ok in a proper parking bay) and I need to get it towed to home or my tame mechanic.

But of course the steering lock is on - any ideas how I can get round it? I don't mind forcing it & damaging it as it's a high mileage car and its next stop will probably be the scrapyard - be nice if I could get another few months out of it though! I'd just like to know how to actually force it - not having had the benefit of a misspent youth!

Cheers - Dunc

Angle grinder or find someone with a towing dolly etc...

If the car really is going to the scrappy, Get a scaffold bar and use it to lever the steering wheel left or right, you can break the pin. On the older mercs 2 men can do it without any tools...

Scaffold bar is the easy preffered technique :D 1 man job 10 seconds
