Hi all,

Recently purchaced a 2005 coupe sport 180k and it could do with a service. I'm looking to do this myself and just needed a little guide of how to change the oil? i've done most of my previous cars so hoping this will be straight forward.

I'm sure this has been covered before but the search facility does not seem to function for me.

Purchased the car for the mrs and to be fair its quite a nice little pokey car :)

Many thanks.

Changing the oil on this car will be EXACTLY the same as you would do on any other car...or have I missed your point? And you can use the same air as other cars too...in the tyres.

As above.

Easiest way is to buy an oil suction pump from Halfords and suck out the old oil through the filler neck.

Alternatively if you have access to ramp or axle jacks you can do it the old way but you will need to remove the under-engine tray for access and prepare a new oil plug washer.

And make you get the correct oil for your car e.g. 229.3 or 229.5.

Luckily oil filters on Mercs are changed from the top so no need to crawl under the car.
